Art educatorNEW ORLEANS – Services for former museum director and Dillard University department chair Cheryl Dixon will be Oct. 9. She died Sept. 30 at age 69.
She was former director for the Museum of African American Art in Los Angeles, and was Chair of Collections and Acquisitions of the LSU Museum of Art Advisory Board. She retired after 20 years as an administrator and faculty member of Dillard University, where she was chair of the Art Department and director of the art gallery.
Survivors include two sons.
Arrangements are by Rhodes.

Principal
DENHAM SPRINGS – Services for retired coach and principal Joseph Fontenot will be in Evans, Ga. He died on Oct. 2 .
He was former principal of Northside Elementary and French Settlement Elementary. After retiring from Livingston Parish schools, he taught in Baton Rouge, moving to Augusta, Ga. in 2008.
Survivors include his wife Karen and three children.
