Former NFL player
CROWLEY – Arrangements are pending for former Minnesota Vikings safety Orlando Thomas, who led the NFL in interceptions during his rookie year in 1995 with nine,. He died Nov. 9 at age 42,
Thomas had been battling ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). Thomas started 87 of 98 games for the Vikings, intercepting 22 passes, including the nine during his rookie season, before retiring following the 2001 season.
Thomas revealed in June 2007 that he was suffering from ALS.

Former principal
ZACHARY – Services for former Baker and Zachary High coach and principal Jerry Boudreaux will be Nov. 10. He died Nov. 6 at age 81.
He was a member of the LHSAA Hall of Fame ant three times president of the Louisiana Association of Principals. He was instrumental in formation of the Zachary Community School System.
Survivors include several children.
