Former wildlife chairman
ALEXANDRIA – Services for former Wildlife & Fisheries Commission Chairman Ray Whatley are Nov. 17. He died Nov. 14 at age 82.
He was former president of Rapides Packing Co. and Houston Frosted Foods and also owned an insurance brokerage firm specializing in surety, construction, hotel and marine coverages. He was a LWFC member under three governors and was instrumental in state acquisition of the Dewey Wills Management Area and establishment of the Grand Terre Marine Laboratory in Grand Isle. He was a founding member of the New Orleans Big Game Fishing Club.
Survivors include his wife June and three children.

Bataan survivors
BRUSLY – Services will be Nov. 18 for Bataan Death March survivor Angelo Borruano, Sr. He died Nov. 15 at age 95.
He was a Japanese prisoner of war for three years. He owned Angelo’s Grocery on La. 1 for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his wife Merle and several children.
Arrangements are by Wilbert.
State attorney
BATON ROUGE – Services for retired state attorney N. Michell Bond will be Dec. 6. She died Nov. 7 at age 67.
She worked for the state almost 40 years, retiring as director of the Fraud Division of the Department of Insurance. She worked many years in the Secretary of State’s office.
Arrangements are by Resthaven.
Long-time teacher
PINEVILLE – Services for long-time teacher and civic leader Grace Beall were Nov. 15. She died Nov. 12 at age 86.
She taught school 44 years, including in Crowville, Grant Parish, Pineville, Alexandria, Louisiana College and several other communities.
She also was the secretary/treasurer of the Gulf Coast Athletic Association and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics District 30 from 1983-2013, vice-chair of the Pineville Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board from 1977-2013, and volunteer chaplain at Rapides Regional Medical Center from 1993-2013. She was a recipient of the Rapides Regional Medical Center Outstanding Service Award, Louisiana Vocational Outstanding Teacher Award in 1971, Outstanding Secondary Education Service Award in 1973, and Princeton Premier Business Professor Honorary Lecture Award. She was named Woman of the Year in Education in 2009.
Survivors include her husband Vernon and two children.
Noted tennis player
NEW ORLEANS – Services of noted amateur tennis player Margaret ‘Tinky’ Watson will be announced. She died Nov. 9 at age 84.
She was a nationally and regionally ranked tennis player. She was a cheerleader for Tulane while attending Sophie Newcomb. She was coordinator for school tours at New Orleans Botanical Gardens.
Survivors include her husband William and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Lakelawn, Metairie.
Radiologist
LAFAYETTE – Services were Nov. 15 for retired radiologist Dr. Philip Culotta. He died Nov. 13 at age 91.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He practiced general medicine in Youngsville and New Iberia and retired as a radiologist from Dauterive Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters.
