Pharmacist
PLAQUEMINE – Services for pharmacist William Barker, III will be Nov. 25. He died Nov. 21 at age 87.
He operated Barker’s Pharmacy here for more than 50 years. He was a former member of the Earl K. Long Hospital Board.
Survivors include his wife Melwyn and seven children.

Surgeon
CHURCH POINT – Services for retired cardio-thoracic surgeon Dr. Leslie Guidry are pending. He died Nov. 23 at age 87.
He practiced in Lafayette with Dr. F.H. Davis, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Nancy and four children.
Arrangements are by Guidry.

Home ec instructor
BATON ROUGE – Services for home economist and former LSU instructor Ruth Sylvest will be Nov. 26. She died Nov. 24 at age 89.
She taught home economics in East Baton Rouge Parish schools and vocational home economics on the faculty of the LSU College of Agriculture.
Survivors include son and a daughter.
