Cardiologist, psychiatrist
NATCHITOCHES – Services for retired cardiologist and psychiatrist Dr. Oscar Bienvenu, Jr. were Dec. 18. He died Dec. 15 at age 84.
In 1963, he became a staff physician in the Department of Cardiology at Ochsner Clinic and Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, where he created the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In 1978 he moved to Natchitoches and started the Intensive Care Unit at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. From 1960 until 1979, he held faculty status at the Tulane University School of Medicine and from 1994-96 was an instructor at the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport.
After a residency in psychiatry at the LSU Medical School in Shreveport (1993-94), Joe became full-time staff physician at the Natchitoches Mental Health Clinic where he worked until his retirement in 2005 at the age of 75.
Survivors include his wife Marion and four children.

Bankruptcy attorney
LAFAYETTE – Services will be Dec. 23 for noted bankruptcy attorney Paul DeBaillon. He died Dec. 20 at age 57.
He had been a creditor’s attorney since 1981.
Survivors include his wife June and several children.
Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Noted artist, art instructor
NEW ORLEANS – Private services were held for artist and former ULL professor of arts William Moreland. He died Dec. 17 at age 87.
He joined USL (now ULL) in 1955 as an instructor and became chair of the fine arts and art education programs in 1957, playing a significant role in advancing the evolution of the visual arts in Louisiana. His work has been the subject of several major exhibitions.
Survivors include his wife Muriel.

Hospital administrator
GONZALES – Services for former hospital administrator Hickley Waguespack, Jr. will be Dec. 22. He died Dec. 18 at age 70.
He was a regional manager for Louisiana Vocational Rehabilitation, administrator of East Ascension General Hospital and retired as COO of Rehab Care Group, a Missouri-based firm.
Survivors include his wife Judy and three children.
Arrangements are by Ourso.

Former 'Young Turk'
ALEXANDRIA – Services for insurance agent and former legislator R.W. “Buzzy” Graham were Dec. 21. He died Dec. 19 at age 77.
He was elected to the Louisiana House in 1967, becoming part of a coalition of young lawmakers knows as the “Young Turks.” He was a delegate to the 1973 Louisiana Constitutional Convention. He retired as vice chairman of Risk Services of Louisiana.
Survivors include his wife Carol and several children.
