Indian physician
SHREVEPORT – Services for pioneering Indian physician Dr. Kundan Manocha will be Jan. 10. He died Dec. 21 at age 83.
He was the first and pioneering Indian physician in northwest Louisiana. He practiced and served as a full professor for over 40 years in the VA and LSU Medical Centers. He was board certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, Pulmonology, and Geriatrics. Dr. Manocha also served as a decorated Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Gulf War.
Survivors include his wife Sneh and three children.

Optometrist
MONROE – Services for long-time optometrist Dr. William Causey, Jr. were Jan. 3. He died Dec. 31 at age 97.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and practiced in Shreveport for more than 50 years, retiring at age 85.
Survivors include two children.

Tarawa-Saipan-Tinian-Okinawa vet
BASTROP – Services for electrical engineer Henry Taylor were Jan. 4. He died Jan. 2 at age 92.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, including the invasions of Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa. He helped found Murco, Inc., for which he worked many years. He was a former Monroe City School Board member
Survivors include two sons.

Former police chief
MONROE – Services for retired police chief Charles Gaushell were Jan. 3. He died Dec. 17 at age 76.
He was a policeman in Baton Rouge and Monterey Park, Calif. before becoming Monroe chief.
Survivors include his wife Anne and two children.
