Attorney, banker
CROWLEY – Services for attorney and banker J.W. “Boysie” Landry, Jr. will be Jan. 11. He died Jan. 6 at age 94.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II’s European theater and held the Bronze Star. He practiced law for 70 years. He was on the board of Bank of Commerce & Trust for more than 40 years, including 36 as chairman. He was a member of the American Legion Hospital board for more than 50 years, serving as its president and chairman at different times.
Survivors include several children and step-children.
Arrangements are by Geesey-Ferguson.

Three-war veteran
BORDELONVILLE – Services for retired Army officer and former Avoyelles School Board sales tax collector Linus Juneau will be Jan. 9. He died Jan. 7 at age 92.
He was one of the first U.S. military advisors to serve in Vietnam and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a World War II veteran of D-Day and the European campaigns and a veteran of the Korean War, including service on Heartbreak Ridge. He held the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. After retirement, he worked for the School Board in the tax collector capacity.
Survivors include several children.
Arrangements are by Escude.

Pharmacist
LAFAYETTE – Services for pharmacist and civic leader Thomas Day will be Jan. 9. He died Jan. 6 at age 70.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was former owner, pharmacist and operator of Teche Drugs and Gifts in downtown Lafayette. He was a former sales rep for E.G. Lily and a staff pharmacist for Walter Pearson. He was instrumental in the redevelopment of the downtown area and was one of the first to convert office space into residential space.
Survivors include his wife Martha and four children.
Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

DOTD chief engineer, deacon
LAFAYETTE – Services for former DOTD chief engineer Deacon Eugene Waguespack will be Jan. 8. He died Jan. 5 at age 79.
In addition to be DOTD’s chief engineer he was at one time the department’s acting Secretary of Transportation and Development. At DOTD, he started the job literacy program and Project Wildflower (seeding highway rights of way). He became a Catholic deacon in 1980, serving churches in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Carencro.
Survivors include his wife Laura and several children.

Hall of Fame bowler
BATON ROUGE – Services for Hall of Fame bowler Gracie McNemar will be Jan. 9. She died Jan. 6 at age 96.
She bowled until age 90 and was inducted into the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 2005.
Survivors include several children.
Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

VA librarian
LAFAYETTE – Services for librarian Wilma Neveu will be Jan. 10. She died Jan. 4 at age 88.
She retired as chief librarian in the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters.
Arrangements are by Delhomme.
