Retired judge
LUTCHER – Services are Feb. 6 for Judge John Peytavin. He died Feb. 3 at age 82.
He was a 23rd Judicial District Judge from 1985 until mandatory retirement in 2002. He was former Lutcher town attorney, St. James Parish indigent defender and counsel to the School Board. He had served as an ad hoc judge in several South Louisiana jurisdictions through 2014.
Survivors include his wife Betty and several children.
Arrangements are by Rose Lynn.
Retired theology prof
PINEVILLE – Services are Feb. 7 for retired languages and theology professor Dr. Nikolai Alexandrenko. He died Feb. 3 at age 92.
He was a Russian Army veteran of World War II and a POW of Germany for two years. As a refugee to the U.S. he attended Louisiana College and New Orleans Baptist Seminary and Tulane. He taught at and retired from LC.
Survivors include five children.
Arrangements are by Gallagher.
Retired pastor
MANDEVILLE – Services for retired Baptist pastor the Rev. Robert Ferguson will be Feb. 8. He died Feb. 3 at age 76.
He pastored churches in Mississippi, Texas, Germany and Louisiana, retiring from First Baptist, Mandeville.
Survivors include his wife Diane and three children.
Arrangements are by Bagnell & Son, Covington.
