Elma James

Visitation for Elma B. James will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral services following at 11:00 am both at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elton, LA. Interment will follow in the Greater Golden Light Baptist Church Cemetery in Basile, LA with Rev. Freddie Jack, Pastor officiating.
Elma, age 85, died Thursday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Kinder Retirement and Rehabilitation.
She served on Sr. Usher Board, worked with Deaconess Board and the Mission Department at Greater Golden Light.
Survivors include five sons: Odell James, Jr. (Bernadette) and Jessie James (Martha), both of Eunice, Lester James (Marlise) of Northport, Fla., Eddie James of Basile, and Lawrence James (Deanna) of Westminster, Colo..; one daughter, Katina James Captain of Cross, S.C.; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Bruno; three sisters, Eldora, Ella, and Thelma; three bothers, Oscar, Freddie John Bruno.
Pallbearers will be: Marquis Hooker, Michael Hooker, Michael Goodley, Jonathan James, Lester James, Jr. and Clinton Darden, Jr.
Frank Brothers is in charge of arrangements.
