Lorraine Christ Pousson

Lorraine C. Pousson died at her home at the age of 89 on Friday, February 06, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Jude Thierry at 11:00 am on Monday, February 09, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Known as “Granny” to everyone, Lorraine was a homemaker.
Survivors include six children, Cheryl Stroupe and husband, Walter; Michael Pousson and wife, Dolores; Randall “Pete” Pousson and wife, Nancy; Rita Hebert; Hal Pousson and wife, Charlotte; and Pat Pousson and wife, Sharon, all of Iota; a daughter-in-law, Dalphine Pousson of Iota; one brother, Cleve Christ and wife, Emily, of Lake Charles; two sisters, Lillie Mae Aucoin and Mildred Schatzle, both of Eunice; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Brown and Lily Pousson, both of Iota; and one brother-in-law, George Rider, of Eunice; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leven Pousson; one son, Steve Pousson; her parents, Paul and Marie Miller Christ; eight brothers, Gilven, Leroy, Collins, Walter, Nelson, Aaron, Elridge “Bee”, Joseph; and one sister, Melba; and two grandchildren.
