Rita McClelland Beverly

RAYNE ~ Visitation for Rita McClelland Beverly, age 67, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm with funeral services following at 1:00 pm, both at Starlight Baptist Church, 206 Webb Street, Rayne, LA. Interment will follow in the Rayne Protestant Cemetery in Rayne with Reverend Natan Stevens Pastor.
Rita passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her residence in Rayne.
Rita was a very devoted and faithful member at Starlight Baptist Church. She was a Deaconess and Usher. Rita was a Sunday School teacher and a first class citizen of Rayne and would help anyone she came in contact with.
Survivors include: one son, Joseph Beverly, Jr. (Brandy) of Rayne; three daughters: Cynthia B. Mouton (Albert) and Crystal N. Beverly, both of Rayne, and Gwendolyn B. Minix (Alvin, Jr.) of Lafayette; three brothers: Percy McClelland, Sr., and Frederick McClelland (Shirley) both of Rayne, and Leonard “Lennis’’ McClelland of Lake Charles; two sisters, Rachel Deculit of Rayne and Joyce Etienne of Jennings; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Joseph Beverly, Sr.; her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Freddy McClelland; her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandparents; three brothers: Chester, Arthur Lee and Fred McClelland; two sisters: Irma Freeman and Heardy Wiley.
Pallbearers will be: Percy McClelland, Jr., Donald Deculit, Lonis Domingue, Jr., Tory Pitre, David Freeman, Roderick Freeman, Jimmy Wilson, Sr., and Lionel Deculit.
