All-Americans and All-Stars

SURREY, British Columbia – Former LSU Eunice pitchers Raven Cole and Destin Vicknair earned back-to-back All-American honors during their Lady Bengal careers.
This month, the two will continue to be teammates on the NJCAA All-Stars playing in the Canadian Open that began on July 3 and will conclude on July 13.
Cole kept the Basque Country-Spain off the board during six innings of work and the NJCAA All Stars beat the Basque Country-Spain, 9-0 on Saturday in their first game of the Canadian Open.
Cole struck out eight and walk one as she limited Spain to just two hits in six innings.
Vicknair had a good performance at the plate as she went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Danielle Damel (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher as she walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
On Monday, the NJCAA All-Stars cruised to a 8-1 win over the River City Hornets as Cole earned her second victory of the tournament.
Cole struck out nine, walked two and allowed one run on two hits in three innings.
Vicknair went two innings as she struck out three, walked one and allowed one hit.
Vicknair also went 1-for-1 with two RBI and a walk.
Through the first two wins, Cole recorded 17 strikeouts, with three walks and just one run on four hits.
The All-Stars suffered their first loss on Tuesday as Jenna Caira held the NJCAA team scoreless for six innings to boost the Team Canada to a 5-0 victory.
Caira struck out six and allowed no walks and three hits.
Vicknair suffered the loss as she walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings.
After facing Cuba on Wednesday, the NJCAA All-Stars was scheduled to take on the Dominican Republic today and Mexico on Friday.
The Canadian Open – formerly known as the Canada Cup – has been played annu ally since 1993 and features some of the top national teams from around the globe.
Last year, LSU Eunice’s Brooklyn Clark and Codi Covington played for the NJCAA All-Stars.
Vicknair is heading to the University of South Alabama, while Cole will continue her softball career at the University of North Alabama.
Her sophomore season at LSU Eunice, Vicknair was 18-4 with 192 strikeouts, 37 walks and allowed 24 earned runs on 75 hits and 26 walks.
Vicknair hit .431 with 11 home runs, 65 RBI, 18 doubles and two triples for the Lady Bengals.
Cole was 20-2 as a sophomore with 204 strikeouts, 45 walks with 16 earned runs on 55 hits.
Cole hit .321 with five home runs, two doubles with 20 RBI and 22 walks.
