Lemieux, Eddleman head to LSUA

ALEXANDRIA – Former LSU Eunice Lady Bengals Katie Lemieux and Morgan Eddleman will continue their college basketball careers together at LSU Alexandria.
“I am extremely excited about their opportunity,” LSUE head coach Amanda Clemons said. “They both set the bar high for what we expect a Lady Bengal to be on and off the court.
“They were great players on the court but also wonderful examples in our community and in the classroom,” the coach said.
Eddleman, a starter and captain for the Bengals last season averaged 5.8 points and 5.7 rebounds a game in 29 minutes played per contest.
She also hit 14 three-pointers a season ago.
Lemieux, a guard from Pitkin, started in all 28 games last season and led the Bengals in scoring (19.7 PPG), rebounding (9.1 RPG) in 37.4 minutes played per game.
Lemieux also had 127 steals, which was third overall in the NJCAA, and finishes her LSUE career as the all-time steals leader.
Lemieux was named NJCAA national player of the week and was All-Region at the end of the season.
“I was surprised they both ended up at LSUA,” Clemons said. “But the coach Bob Austin and the Lady Generals will be blessed to have them on the court together.”
Lemieux and Eddleman are the first two players to advance their careers under Clemons, who enters her third season at LSUE this fall.
Lemieux averaged 17.4 points per game her freshman season.
Eddleman transferred from East Texas Baptist and had to sit out the 2014-15 season.
