Ardoin grabs top honors
When a team goes 0-10 for the year, it is sometimes easy to overlook the individual efforts each week.
Adam Ardoin rushed for 186 yards on 33 carries including a 1-yard touchdown in Iota’s 35-13 loss to St. Louis in the season finale for the Bulldogs.
For his performance, Ardoin was selected as the Eunice News Player of the Week for Nov. 3-9.
St. Edmund quarterback Drew Brown had another strong outing in the Blue Jays’ 35-6 win over Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
Brown gained 182 yards on 27 carries with touchdown runs of 19 and 69 yards. He also completed 7-of-9 passes for 131 yards with scoring strikes to Stone LeJeune (12 yards) and Alex Hunt (20 yards).
Basile’s Kendrick Ceaser gained 107 yards on 18 carries including a 47-yard touchdown run in the Bearcats’ 20-12 win over Oberlin.
Eunice running back Chris Johnson had 105 yards on six carries including a 77-yard touchdown run in the Bobcats’ 27-3 win over Beau Chene. Team mate Jake Sonnier scored on both sides of the ball with an 8-yard run and a 45-yard interception return.
