Blue Jays place 21 on 5-1A team

The St. Edmund Blue Jays advanced to the Division IV football state quarterfinals and earned a District 5-1A title.
For their accomplishments, The Blue Jays (7-4, 4-0) placed 21 players on the 5-1A All-District team.
Senior quarterback Drew Brown was named first team Athlete and District Offensive MVP, while Thomas David earned District Coach of the Year honors.
Junior Drake Brunet was named first-team wide receiver, while senior Zach LaFleur was named first-team running back.
Senior Hans Redlich and junior Phillippe Aguillard earned first-team offensive lineman honors.
Senior Austin Sittig was named first-team linebacker and Co-Defensive MVP with Sacred Heart of Ville Platte’s Caleb Soileau.
Ross LaFleur earned first-team defensive honors as a lineman, while junior Gibson LaFleur was first-team linebacker.
Senior Aaron Sittig earned first-team defensive back honors.
Wide receivers Alex Hunt and Cullen Brown landed on the second-team offense along with linemen Jacob Thibodeaux and Jacque Richard.
Senior defensive lineman Lathan Lyons was named to second-team defense along with senior linebacker Redlich and defensive back Zach LaFleur.
Earning honorable mention honors were Jack Brown, Will Chachere, Cole Bergeron, Luke LaFleur and Peter Miller.
