Bobcats’ Prudhomme commits to Cajuns

Now he can concentrate on his senior season.
Eunice High lineman Cole Prudhomme (6-3. 290) gave a verbal, non-binding commitment this past weekend to play football for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, after he participated in a football camp and afterward accepted a scholarship offer from head coach Mark Hudspeth.
The son of Butch and Janet Prudhomme, Cole earned a spot on the All-District, All-Parish and All-Acadiana lists with the Bobcats last season.
“I liked the school, the coaches and how they are doing things,” Prudhomme said of UL. “They are doing great in sports overall right now.”
In June, Prudhomme also completed a UL Monoe football camp and was offered a scholarship by the Warhawks.
McNeese State also showed interest in Prudhomme.
“It is my last year of high school and I want to play it out.
“Hopefully we can go far this year.”
Prudhomme said as a center he likes the leadership role he has in directing the offensive line plays.
“If you don’t have a strong offensive line, nothing can happen,” he said.
“I like being part of that wall.”
Prudhomme said he may also see action on the Bobcat defensive front.
While the first practices won’t begin for a couple of weeks, Prudhomme said the summer workouts have been fgood.
“I like what I see in my team mates this summer as we are putting forth effort of our goal to reach the Dome (championship game).
“I am going to do my best and put forth the effort every day to do my part,” he said.
“My senior teammates feel the same way,” Prudhomme said. “We are working hard.”
Eunice finished 6-5 overall last year, 4-2 in District 4-4A.
The Bobcats fell 23-7 to Westgate in the opening round of the playoffs.
