Bobcats crush Indians, 11-1

The Eunice High Bobcats improved their District 4-4A record to 2-0 with an 11-1 victory over the Washington-Marion Chargin’ Indians in action Wednesday afternoon at Bobcat Field.
Alec Trosclair earned the mound victory for the Cats by going the distance in the five-inning, ten-run rule contest. Trosclair (1-2) gave up his only run in the second inning when Kyron Gallien singled, stole second, and scored on an errant throw by Trosclair. Kalien Aaron followed with a single, the final hit allowed by Trosclair, who struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk.
Indians’ starting pitcher Rawlin Guillory allowed single runs in the first two innings, but the Cats began to separate from the Indians in the third inning. Singles by Logan Manuel and Jordan Comeaux began the inning, with both scoring on a double by Wes Hebert. Hebert later scored the Cats’ fifth run on a sacrifice fly by Christian Lejeune.
Eunice added five more runs in their fifth inning. Singles by Manuel and Comeaux opened the inning. Hebert singled to score Manuel and Comeaux crossed the plate on a double by A. P. Sonnier. Sonnier later scored on a single by Caleb Taylor. The final run for the Cats scored in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Hebert.
Comeaux had three hits to lead the Bobcats. Manuel, Sonnier, and Hebert had two hits apiece. Hebert finished the day with four RBI. The win moved the Cats overall record to 8-6.
