Bobcats dominate All-District 5-3A team

The Eunice Bobcats won the district championship and dominated the All-District 5-3A list.
Eunice head coach Paul Trosclair was named the Coach of the Year, while Travis Godfrey earned Offensive MVP honors along with Northwest’s Chris Lee.
Defensive MVP honors went to Ville Platte’s Von’darius Freeman.
Godfrey gained 528 yards on 30 catches with seven touchdowns.
He also completed 3-of-6 passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns.
Eunice quarterback Alex Richard earned First Team recognition as he completed 108-of-170 for 1,506 yards with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Nick Powell was named first team running back as he gained 1,185 yards on 190 carries with a school record 21 touchdowns.
Terryl Poullard was a first team wide receiver as he had 44 receptions for 469 yards and four touchdowns.
Dashawn Vigers also earned first team wide receiver recognition as he caught 15 passes for 363 yards with two touchdowns.
Offensive linemen Nic Victorian and Shelton Langley were both named to the first team.
Wesley Hebert earned both first team kicker and punter honors.
Hebert had 21 punts for a 38.4 yard average, while he made 28-of-36 extra points and 3-of-4 field goals.
Seven Bobcats also earned First Team Defensive honors including Hebert and Godfrey.
Defensive linemen Robert Dacus and Larry Rideau join linebackers Ajyh Johnson and Tylar Allison on the first team.
Godfrey was named first team defensive back along with Brandon Ndubueze.
Lineman Jacob Lacombe earned second team offensive honors, while Shemar Guillory and Vigers were named to the defensive second team.
Cade Richard, David Middlebrooks and Damian Comeaux were selected as Honorable Mention.
The Bobcats finished the season 10-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 district record.
