Bracket released for 2014 EHS tourney

The eighth annual Eunice High Alumni softball tournament begins Friday at the Recreation Complex on Sittig Road.
The schedule for the 28-team tournament includes three divisions of play in this year’s tournament:

Rookie League
Pool A: 2014, 2012, 2010, 2007 and 2004/05
Pool B: 2013, 2011/09, 2008/09, 2006 and 2003

Minor League
Pool A: 2002, 2000, 1998, 1996 and 1994
Pool B: 2001, 1999, 1997, 1995 and 1993/92

Major League
Pool A: 1991/92, 1988, 1985 and 1971-80
Pool B: 1990, 1987/86, 1982/83 and 1970 - before

The Rookie and Minor and Major Leagues all have one scheduled “Friendship” game as their first game, which does not count in their record to advance to the Semi-Finals games on Sunday.
This game is scheduled with a team outside of the respective regular pool.
The Major League will not have a Friendship game. They begin pool play their first game. They will have a semi-final with top four teams.
The first Semi-Final will be the top seed from pool B playing the number two seed from pool A.
The second Semi-Final will be the top seed from pool A playing the second seed from pool B.
These two winners will advance to the Championship Game in their League.
The tournament is set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday with the championship games slated for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
