Brown grabs top honors

St. Edmund quarterback Drew Brown was part of four touchdowns and 251 yards of total offense as the Blue Jays soared to a 42-6 win over the Iota Bulldogs.
Brown completed 11-of-18 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns. He also gained 43 yards on 11 carries, including a 12-yard touchdown run.
For his efforts, Brown was selected the Eunice News Player of the Week for Sept. 7-13.
Basile running back Kendrick Ceaser gained 185 yards on 17 carries in the sixth-ranked Bearcats’ 16-6 win over Ville Platte.
He scored on runs of 78 and 60 yards in the win.
Mamou’s Dylan Duplechain completed 9-of-11 passes for 148 yards including a 25-yard touchdown to Paul Williams in the Green Demons’ 33-7 win over South Cameron. Duplechain also scored on runs of 1 and 6 yards.
Williams finished with four catches for 94 yards.
Church Point running back Deion Monroe gained 110 yards on 16 carries and scored on runs of 12-yards and 1-yard in the ninth-ranked Bears’ 30-0 win over Kaplan.
Eunice High’s Alex Richard gained 107 yards on 19 carries and also completed 2-of-11 passes for 46 yards in the Bobcats’ 31-14 loss to Jennings.
Iota running back Adam Ardoin gained 102 yards on 12 carries in the Bulldogs’ loss to St. Edmund.
