EHS grab wins over Lady Indians

The Eunice High Lady Bobcats swept a doubleheader from the Washington-Marion Lady Indians on Tuesday in District 4-4A action at the Lady Cats facility.
In the first game, the Lady Cats took advantage of walks to their first five batters to score six runs for an early 6-0 lead.
The Eunice High girls scored eight runs in the second inning for a 14-0 lead on their way to a 17-1 victory.
Eunice High pitcher Amber Arvie limited the Lady Indians to one run in the three-inning contest. Arvie struck out eight and walked just two to earn the win.
The Lady Bobcats continued their domination in the second game with a 15-0 victory.
Peyton Winn earned the pitching win with three perfect innings of work. Winn retired the side in order in each inning while striking out six.
The Lady Cats’ offense did its part by scoring nine runs in the first inning, five in the second, and one in the third.
The Lady Cats improved their district record to 5-3 with the sweep.
In action over the weekend, the Lady Cats fell victim to Church Point on Saturday and to Rayne on Sunday.
Against Church Point, the Lady Cats fell behind early and never recovered in falling by a 19-5 margin.
The Lady Bears put together six-run innings in the first and second innings to take control of the contest.
Heidi Pitre doubled to lead the Lady Bobcats, while Mia LeJeune, Logan Ledoux, Katlyn Joubert, and Arvie collected singles.
Against Rayne, the Lady Wolves scored one in the first inning and two in the second to claim an early 3-0 lead.
The Lady Wolves put the game away with a seven-run third and a six-run fourth for a 16-1 victory.
The Lady Cats scored their lone run in the third. LeJeune singled and scored as Ryan Citizen and Arvie singled.
