Eunice wins boys and girls parish track titles

The Eunice High Lady Cats won their fourth straight St. Landry Parish track championship, while the Bobcats slipped past rival Beau Chene to earn the boys title.
The Lady Bobcats dominated the meet with 203 points, followed by Beau Chene (113), Opelousas (104), Port Barre (51), North Central (34) and Northwest (19).
Madison Guillory shared Top Field Performer honors with Beau Chene’s Helena Tibbs, while Beau Chene’s Stephanie Hayes scored 24 points to earn Top Track Performer honors.
Guillory won the discus with a throw of 82-10.75, followed by teammate Alexis Jason’s 77-0.
Guillory also won the shot put with a throw of 31-3.
Eunice’s Jyrieh Johnson won the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.00 and was the first leg of the three Lady Bocat relay wins to finish with 17.5 points.
Dashaya Vigers won the javelin with a toss of 100-1.
Katelyn Guillory finished second in the pole vault at 7-0.
Robbi Palmer won the high jump with a leap of 4-10, followed by team-mate Elizabeth Van Dyne (4-8).

The Lady Cats won all three relays to help seal the parish title.
Johnson, Timia Thomas, Kiara White and Hannah Jack won the 4x100-meter relay with time of 51.51.
Johnson, White, Jack and Amaya Johnwell won the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:49.37.
Johnson, White, Saja Chevis and Clea Fransaw won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:38.10.
Chevis finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:14.52.
Fransaw finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 30-2.
The Eunice Bobcats finished with 143.33 points, followed by Beau Chene (140.33), Northwest (122.33), Opelousas (79), Port Barre (45) and North Central (20).
Bryce Pavich tied Beau Chene’s Jake Taylor for Outstanding Track Performer.
Pavich won the 300-meter hurdles at 44.32, followed by team mate Pierre Nile (46.56).
Pavich also won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.18.
Fred Cameron from Northwest earned Top Field Performer honors with 24 poijts.
Robert Dacus won the shot put with a toss of 43-2.
Eunice’s Jordan Ledet, Malik Poullard, Austin Deculus and Nick Powell won the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:33.01.
The foursome finished second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.51.
Powell won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.95.
Malik Barnes finished second in the 800-meter run (2:17.27) followed by Georrin Dupre (2:19.10).
Ajyh Johnson finished third in the javelin with a throw of 122-4.
Andrew Rougeau finished third in the discus with a toss of 112-9.25.
Poullard finished second in the 200-meter dash (23.13) and third in the triple jump with a leap of 39-8.
Caleb Smith finished third in the pole vault at 10-0.
Richard Newman finished second in the 1,600-meter run (5:17.98) and third in the 3,200-meter run (12:17.80).
Eunice will compete in the District 5-3A meet April 21 at Church Point.
