Lady Bulldogs, Blue Gators win SEH Invitational
In their first track meet of the season, the Lady Jays grabbed second, while the Blue Jays finished fourth last Friday at the Eunice High athletic complex.
Ville Platte won the girls competition with 102 points, followed by St. Edmund (90), Mamou (79), Elton (64), Basile (51), Glenmora (48), Port Barre (39), Pine Prairie (35), Sacred Heart of Ville Platte (26) and Ascension Episcopal (15).
Amber Griffin was named Top Girls Field Performer as she won the triple jump (34-9), high jump (5-0) and long jump (16-4).
Mamou’s Kiajah Wilson was Top Girls Track Performer as she won the 40 meters (1:05.70) 800 meters (2:42;13), and was part of the third place 4x400 relay team.
St. Edmund’s Heather Bieber won the shot put with a throw of 33-4 3/4, finished fourth in both the long jump (13-9) and the discus (79-4).
Heidi Bieber won the girls javelin with a toss of 87-0 and finished tied for first in the pole vault with Abby Brown (8-0).
Allison Lafleur finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 28.17.
Blaire Allen finished third in both the 1,600 meters (6:58) and the 3,200 meters (14:48)
St. Edmund’s Allison Lafleur, Elissa David, Jami LeBouef and Heidi Bieber finished fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 55.68.
The Lady Jays finished fourth in the 4x400 relay as Maggie Larriviere, Abby Miller, Camille Leger and Alison Turk combined for a time of 5:10.20.
Victoria Heinen finished fourth in the high jump at 4-4.
Victoria Magee finished fifth in the 800 meter run witb a time of 3:02.98.
Lucy Brown finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdles at 20.52, while Gabrielle Heinen finished sixth in the triple jump at 27-3.
Kasey Lafleur (1:00.18) and Gabrielle Heinen (1:01.35) finished fifth and sixth in the 300 meter hurdles.
Turk finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:11.69.
Ascension Episcopal won the boys competition with 100 points, followed by Ville Platte (96), Elton (95), St. Edmund (74), Port Barre (62), Pine Prairie (36), Basile (36), Sacred Heart of Ville Platte (26), Genmora (26) and Mamou (4).
Ronald LeBlanc from Ascension Episcopal won Top Field Performer as he won both the triple jump (41-7) and the long jump (19-9 3/4) along with third place in the high jump (5-8).
Elton’s Jeremy Leonard was named Top Track Performer as he won the 3,200 meters (11:54) and finished second in the 800 meters (2:16.45) and the 1,600 meters (5:24).
St. Edmund’s Aaron Sittig won the 300- meter hurdles with a time of 43.06.
Cullen Brown, Sittig, Ross LaFleur and John Ross Guillory combined for a second place finish time of 3:50.03 in the 4x400 relay.
Gibson Lafleur finished second in the long jump with a leap of 19-4 1/2.
Jacque Richard finished second in the shot put with a throw of 40-1 1/2.
Ross LaFleur finished second in the javelin with a throw of 158-8.
Guillory finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 56.30.
Drew Brown, Guillory, Sittig and Gibson LaFleur finished fourth in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:38.50.
Cullen Brown finished fourth in both the 110 hurdles (20.38) and 300 hurdles (44.44).
Lathan Lyons finished fourth in the pole vault at 9-0.
Alex Hunt finished fifth in both the 1,600 meters (5:38) and 3,200 meters (12:10.14)
Cullen Brown finished fifth in the triple jump (37-1) and John Hull was sixth (36-8).
Gibson LaFleur finished sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.88.
Cole Bergeron finished sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 22.80).
