Lady Cats defend parish track title, Bobcats finish second

LEBEAU - The Eunice Lady Cats captured the 2014 St. Landry Parish track title, while the Bobcats finished second behind champion Opelousas High.
It was the second parish title in a row for the Lady Cats as they also won four straight titles from 2002-05.
Eunice scored 133 points to win the championship, followed by OHS (112), Port Barre (110), Beau Chene (99), North Central (61) and Northwest (30).
OHS won the boys title with 173 points to edge Eunice (112), Beau Chene (96), Port Barre (88), North Central (47) and Northwest (29).
Kiara White finished tied for first in the 200-meters with Kariah Stelly from OHS with a time of 26.19.
Jyrieh Johnson, Hali Jack, Kristi Thibodeaux and Beulah Bradley won the 4x100 relay with a time of 52.4.
Johnson, Kiara White, Thibodeaux and Bradley won the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:48.9.
Johnson, Jack, White and Bradley also won the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:30.3.
Kate McLemore captured her third straight parish discus title with a toss of 108-6.
Dashae Vigers won the javelin with a throw of 112-1 1/2.
Haley Jack captured the high jump with a leap of 4-10.
Bradley finished third in the 100-meters with a time of 12.66.
Clea Fransaw finished third in the 400-meters with a time of 1:06.89.
Kailey Richard finished third in the 1,600 meters with a time of 6:47.33.
Chelsea Aucoin finished third in the 3,200 meters with a time of 15:35.0
Shelbie Cormier finished third in the pole vault at 6-6.
In boys competition, D’Onte Washington won the 200 meters with a time of 22,75 to clip Darious Richard’s 22.90.
Skylar Ned, Powell, Washington and Richard won the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.3.
Jor’Don Daigle won the javelin with a toss of 160-3.
Richard finished second in the 100 meters with at time of 10.95 just ahead of team mate Nicholas Powell (10.97).
Cole Prudhomme finished second in the shot put with a toss of 45-7 1/2.
Triston Frye finished third in the 400-meters with a time of 53.17.
Malik Barnes finished third in the 800-meters with a time of 2:14.39.
Ned, Washington, Ayjh Johnson and Frye finished third in the 4x200 relay at 1:34.90.
