Lady Cats fall to Sacred Heart

The Eunice Lady Bobcats closed their summer league season with a 7-3 loss to Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
After stopping a Lady Trojan threat to open the game, the Lady Cats grabbed a 1-0 lead when Mia LeJeune was hit by a pitch and scored on a hit by Logan Ledoux.
Sacred Heart evened the score in the top of the second when Courtney Vidrine tripled to right field and scored on a single up the middle by Maci Dugas.
Eunice regained the upper hand in the bottom of the inning when Kailey Dix singled and scored on a hit to right field by Jadey Miller.
Sacred Heart tied the game in the top of the fourth as Sydney Fontenot reached on an error, advanced on back-to-back passed balls and scored on another Lady Cat error.
The Lady Trojans grabbed a 4-2 advantage in the top of the fifth as Vidrine singled, Madison Fernandez walked and Natalie Lebaf both hit the balls into the gap to plate two runs.
Sacred Heart added three insurance runs in the top of the sixth when Vidrine hit a bases-loaded triple to push the Lady Trojans ahead, 7-2.
Eunice scored a run in the bottom of the sixth when Kelci Huval walked, stole second and then advanced on consecutive passed balls.
