Lady Cats finish season

The season ended too soon for the Lady Cats as Beau Chene grabbed an 11-0 win over Eunice to close District 4-4A competition.
Eunice (8-16, 6-6) finishes the season at No. 38 in the power rankings with the top 32 earning playoff spots.
It was the final game of their high school careers for Eunice High seniors Kaliee Lyons, Kate McLemore, Allison Bellard and Sadie West.
“They led by example on the field and in the classroom,” head coach John McLemore said of the seniors. “It was a joy to coach them.
“I just wish we could have made the playoffs for their senior season.”
After grabbing a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the No. 15 Lady Gators (24-6, 9-2) added four more runs in the top of the second to push ahead, 6-0.
A solo home run by Lindsey Charles began a three-run third inning for the Lady Gators as Beau Chene added a run in the fourth and fifth innings to complete the mercy-rule win.
Eunice threatened in the bottom of the first when Kaliee Lyons doubled and Mia Lejeune walked but neither scored.
Payton Winn rapped a double in the bottom of the third and Kate McLemore doubled in the bottom of the fourth, but both were left stranded.
Beau Chene’s Ssydney Faul was hit by a pitch three times, walked twice and scored four times to lead the Lady Gators.
Bryley Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with two walks and scored three times, while Charles went 2-for-3 with the home run.
