Lady Cats grab Parish three-peat

PRAIRIE RONDE – The Eunice Lady Bobcats won their third straight St. Landry Parish track title last week at Northwest High, while Opelousas repeated as the boys champion.
The Lady Cats won with 154 points, followed by Opelousas (117), Port Barre (113), Beau Chene (103) and Northwest (54).
Eunice High’s Beuhla Bradley won the 100 meter run with a time of 12.84, while Jyrieh Johnson won the 200 meters with a time of 27.06.
Celeste Cormier won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.87.
Haley Jack won the high jump with a leap of 5-2.
The Lady Cats won the 4x100 relay as Jyhreh Johnson, Timia Thomas, Hannah Jack and Bradley combined for a 51.93 finish.
Eunice also won the 4x200 relay as Jyhreh Johnson, Kierra White, Jack and Bradley combined for a 1:50.45 finish.
Clea Franshaw finished second in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:06.31, while Shantella Gallow finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:52.17.
DeShay Vigers finished second in the javelin with a toss of 99-2, while Shelby Cormier finished second in the pole vault (8-6).
Kiara White finished third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 53.33.
Beau Chene’s Helena Tibbs and Shamira Frank from Northwest shared Outstanding Field Performers.
Tibbs won the long jump (16-10) and the triple jump (34-4), while Frank won the javelin (100-0) and finished second in the discus (88-1)
Beau Chene’s Bailee Olivier was named Outstanding Track Performer as she won the 1,600 meters (6:15.54) and the 3,200 meters (13:32).
In the boys competition, Opelousas won with 166 points, followed by Beau Chene (107), Eunice (102), Northwest (98),
North Central (39) and Port Barre (33).
Eunice High’s Cole Prudhomme won the shot put with a distance of 49-76 and the discus at 140-3.
Lukas Deculus finished second in the javelin with a toss of 152-6.
Traven Ceasar finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.54.
Geurrin Dupre finished third in the 80 meters with a time of 2:19.51.
Ethan Briscoe finished third in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:11.56.
Eunice finished second in the 4x100 relay as Sergio Betanco, Malik Pooullard, Ajyh Johnson and Tereven Ceaser combined for a time of 6.40.
The Bobcat combination of Betanco, Deculus, Bryce Pavich and Mailk Barnes also won the 4x400 relay with as time of 3:49.51.
Outstanding Field Performers were Prudhomme and Opelousas High’s Ke’Andre Jones, who won the javelin (155-2) and triple jump (43-8).
The OHS duo of Collins Roberts and Darius Berard were named Outstanding Track Performers.
Roberts won the 200 meters (22.07) and the 800 meters (2:12.18), while Berard won the 110-hurdles (14.99) and the 300 hurdles (39.21).
