Lady Cats run past Opelousas

The Eunice Lady Cats improved to 3-2 in District 4-4A with a 15-0, 20-4 sweep over Opelousas High on Thursday.
In the opener, the Lady Cats exploded for 11 runs in the first inning and sealed the mercy-rule win with four more runs in the third frame.
Amber Arive earned the no-hit win as she struck out with five strikeouts and a walk.
Mia Lejeune went 2-for-2 with a walk and hit by pitch and two runs scored.
Ryan Citizen went 1-for-1 with three walks and two runs scored.
Arvie went 1-for-2 with a RBI, a walk and two runs scored.
Logan Ledoux went 2-for-2 with three RBI, a walk and three runs scored.
Heidi Pitre went 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.
Kaitlyn Joubert went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored.
Kelsey Huval went 2-for-3 with a RBI double and two runs scored.
Jadey Miller went 0-for-1 with two walks and a RBI.
Bailey Vidrine finished 1-for-2 with a RBI and two runs scored.
In the finale, Opelousas scored first before the Lady Cats pushed across eight runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Lady Tigers scored three more runs in the second inning, but Eunice answered with seven more runs including a two-run home run by Arvie.
The Lady Cats sealed the mercy-rule win with five more runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Eunice pitcher Peyton Winn earned the victory as she struck out seven, walked three and allowed three hits and one hitbatsman.
LeJeune walked, added a two-RBI, reached on an error and scored three times for the Lady Cats.
Citizen had a RBI triple, walked twice and scored twice.
Arvie walked, scored on an error after she was hit by a pitch and launched her fourth home run of the season.
Ledoux went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.
Pitre went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double, two RBI and two runs scored.
Joubert went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Huval went 0-for-1 but walked and scored a run.
Amalfia Watley went 0-for-2, but also walked and scored a run.
Destiny Edwards, Miller and Trinity Hedgcoth all walked and scored a run.
Christie Sonnier also walked for the Lady Cats.
Winn walked twice, reached on a fielder’s choice and courtesy runner Morgan Domingue scored three times.
