Mamou downs Lady Cats

The third quarter proved decisive in Monday’s basketball game between the Eunice Lady Bobcats and the Lady Green Demons of Mamou.
Mamou broke open a close contest by outscoring the Lady Bobcats by a 22-10 margin in the third quarter to coast to a 68-38 victory at the Eunice High gym.
The Lady Cats trailed by just one point after the first quarter, trailing 12-11 behind the seven points of Dashaya Vigers.
The Lady Demons managed to push their lead to 24-13 at the 1:45 mark of the second quarter, but the Lady Bobcats out-scored the Lady Demons 8-2 from that point on to trail by only a 26-24 margin at halftime.
Mamou came out aggressively in the third quarter, though, outscoring the Lady Cats by an 11-4 margin in the opening four minutes to build a 37-28 lead. Mamou continued to dominate the Lady Cats in the fourth quarter, outscoring Eunice by a 20-6 margin.
Tia Gallow led Mamou with 15 points.
Vigers led the Eunice High scoring with 11 points. Mia Lejeune added nine points and Hali Jack had eight points for the Lady Cats.
The Lady Bobcats will attempt to rebound on Tuesday, Dec. 30, when they host Crowley to open district play.
