Monroe earns top player honors

The Church Point Bears remained undefeated after a 56-14 win over Port Barre.
The Bears (8-0) rolled up 371 yards of total offense, including 271 yards on the ground.
Deion Monroe gained 92 yards on 10 carries and scored on runs of 31, 2 and 36 yards.
For his efforts, Monroe is the player of the Week for Oct. 19-25.
Church Point quarterback Troy Matte completed 4-of-10 passes for 101 yards against the Red Devils.
Bearcat running back Gabe Fontenot gained 112 yards on 14 carries and scored on runs of 47 and 3 yards in Basile’s 13-12 win over East Beauregard.
Iota’s Kaleb Guillory gained 100 yards on 13 carries in the Bullogs’ 34-6 loss to Jennings.
