St. Ed's Brown grabs top honors

St. Edmund quarterback Drew Brown accounted for 159 yards of total offense and three touchdowns in the Blue Jays’ 44-31 win over Metairie Park Country Day.
Brown completed 7-of-21 passes for 81 yards including touchdown tosses to Drake Brunet (37 yards) and Cullen Brown (6 yards).
Brown also gained 78 yards on 10 carries with a 3-yard touchdown to seal the win over the Cajuns.
For his efforts, Brown was selected as the Eunice News Player of the Week for Nov. 9-15.
Church Point’s Christian Vernonie gained 180 yards on 22 carries with two touchdowns in the Bears’ 42-7 win over Brusly.
Teammate Deion Monroe had 163 yards on 10 carries and a score in the win.
St. Edmund’s Zach LaFleur had 159 yards on 33 carries with a 16-yard touchdown run along with a 48-yard fumble return against the Cajuns.
LSU Eunice’s Katie Lemieux scored 20 points and had nine rebounds in the Lady Bengals’ 97-77 loss to Holmes Community College. Taylor Holzmeier had 19 points and six rebounds.
Lemieux had 28 points and 14 rebounds in LSUE’s 89-64 loss to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
