St. James ends Bobcats’ season

The St. James High Wildcats brought an end to the Eunice High season with a 30-19 victory over the Bobcats in regional round action in the Class 3A state playoffs played at Bobcat Stadium.
The Wildcats used an 18-point second quarter to break open a close game on their way to a 24-7 halftime lead.
Coach Paul Trosclair’s Bobcats fought back in the second half, outscoring St. James by a 12-6 margin, but the clock and the season ran out on the Cats.
“Our players fought hard all the way to the end,” said Trosclair. “I’m proud of our team and what we accomplished this season.”
“Give St. James credit, their defense was very athletic and on offense, the play of their quarterback, Lowell Narcisse, was a big factor.”
The Wildcat defense flexed its muscle in the game’s first series, limited the Bobcats to six yards and forcing a punt. The Wildcat offense took over at their own 21-yard line and embarked on a 7-play, 79-yard drive for a touchdown. The score came at the 7:04 mark of the quarter on a Demarcus Williams pass to Arron McKenny covering 41 yards. The run for two points failed.
