Authorities say body found by frog-hunting boys that of woman missing five years
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that authorities have positively identified the human remains located near a Loranger residence early last week as those of missing person Dena Fout (DOB 2.11.68).
A portion of Dena's skeletal remains were found in the early morning hours of May 21, 2014, by several boys as they were frog hunting in a wooded area behind their residence just north east of Loranger.
Dena Fout was last seen outside of her Loranger residence on August 4, 2009, at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Countless man hours have gone into investigating Dena’s disappearance. With many reports and tips throughout the years that Dena was still alive; detectives were never able to verify her whereabouts until Monday at approximately 10 a.m.
Currently, detectives are aggressively working to establish a cause and time of death. Speculations are not be made at this time as to the unexplained death or disappearance.
