Hit and run charged after vehicle hits, kills I-20 pedestrian

State Police have charged a driver with felony hit-and-run after she allegedly ran over and killed a pedestrian on I-20, then fled.
The accident happened about 1 a.m. west of here.
The preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that Whitney Gaston-Loyd, 21, of Shreveport, was traveling west on Interstate 20 in the right lane when her car struck Coty Willis, 32, of Ruston.
Trooper Albert Paxton said Gaston-Loyd fled the scene traveling west.
Grambling City Police located Gaston-Loyd and the suspected hit-and-run vehicle on Grambling State University’s campus. Paxton said Gaston-Loyd and her passenger Brandy Adams, 22, of Shreveport, were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and did not report any injuries.
Gaston-Loyd was charged with a felony hit and run. Adams was charged with accessory after the fact.
