Mother charged in traffic death of infant son

 A mother is charged witha negligent homicide that killed her infant son.

Police allege she caused an accident in which her son, not restrained in a car seat, was killed when her car hit a truck in July.

 Jamie Mathis, 23, lost control and collided head-on with a pickup. Her eight-month-old son was killed.

Mathis was arrested Tuesday after police said they determined the boy was not in a car seat and that Mathis drove recklessly, causing the collision.
