Two apparently drown in tubing tragedy

Two men who died on the Amite River in Livingston Parish on Sunday were identified as Joshua Caleb Brantley, 26, of Hammond, and Philip H. White , 26, of Marrero.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said the men likely drowned. They were with a group of about 10 friends tubing on the river.
The men were reported missing at about 2 p.m., and officials launched a search involving members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office Marine Division, divers, and the local fire department.
The bodies were recovered just after 6 p.m. about a half-mile from where they entered the river, the sheriff's office said.
