Month-long program to study Gaines, other Southern authors

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced that the Ernest J. Gaines Center, located on the third floor of the Edith Garland Dupré Library, is the recipient of a National Endowment of the Humanities Grant to hold a summer institute from May 30 to June 24 entitled “Ernest J.

Curtis Matherne, management professor in the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, was recently awarded the 2015 John T. and Sandra B. Landry Endowed Award for Teaching Excellence at the college’s 57th annual Awards Banquet.
The annual award recognizes a professor, selected based on student evaluations and senior exit survey comments, as the outstanding teacher in the college.
John T. and Sandra Landry of Abbeville established the endowment in 1991 to annually honor, and give recognition to, the top teacher in the Moody College of Business Administration.
In addition to a recognition plaque, the recipient receives a check for $1000 from the endowment.
