DeRouen, Amacker exchange vows during evening outdoor ceremony

Lauren Elizabeth DeRouen and Jason Brian Amacker were united in marriage Saturday, October 29 at 5:30 in the evening on the front lawn of her parent’s home. Reverend Christopher McClelland was the officiate for the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark DeRouen of Eunice. The bride’s mother is the former Deborah Courville. Her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Courville of Eunice. Her paternal grandparents are Doctor and Mrs. F.J. DeRouen, Jr. of Eunice.
She is a 1999 graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette. She attended LSU where she received a bachelor’s of science both in Biological and Petroleum Engineering.
She is currently a senior deepwater reservoir and production engineer in Houston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Amacker of Weatherford, Texas. The groom’s mother is the former Michaele Micenhamer. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonzo “Mike” Micenhamer of New Orleans. His paternal grandparents are the late Margaret Durkes of Baton Rouge, and the late Forrest Amacker of Mandeville.
He is a 2000 graduate of Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas. He attended Texas State University and majored in computer science. He is currently a director in the technology industry.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an original design by Casablanca. The gown was a beaded and embroidered tulle over sequined tulle stunning fit and flare gown that featured a layer of sequined tulle that shimmers under an ornate tulle overlay that has an embroidered chandelier pattern consisting of Swarovski, rhinestones, sequins, pearls and organza ribbon.
The front and back necklines was finished with a delicate rhinestone trim. There was a delicate beading detail along the edge of the dress and train. She finished the look off with a beaded edge fingertip veil.
The bride carried a stunning bouquet of peonies, antique garden roses, hydrangea and anemones in shades of white, ivory, blush and soft pink.
She wore a double diamond necklace of her grandmother JoAnn DeRouen, and her bouquet held her christening cap and was adorned with an original pin and rosary of her great grandmother Agnes. The bride’s father wore a diamond stick pin of his grandfather, F.J. DeRouen, Sr.
The maid of honor was Jolie Mixon. Her bridesmaids where Flavia Hodgden, Susan Sunwoo, Andrea Menard and Stephanie Rials.
The bridesmaids wore long navy blue dresses designed by Bill Levkoff.
The bridesmaids carried hand-held bouquets of hydrangea, antique garden blush roses, mini calla lilies, ivory astillbe, cottage yarrow, blush garden sweetheart roses and white anemones.
The groom and his groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits accented with a white shirt and navy striped ties. Ivory garden sweetheart roses were worn on their lapels.
The best man was the father of the groom, Brian Amacker.
The groomsmen were Elliott Amacker, Matt St. Amour, Korey Soderberg, Mark DeRouen, Jr., and Kevin Amacker.
The flower girl was Kathryn Amacker and the ring bearers were Ethan Amacker and Derek Amacker.
Ushers were Matthew DeRouen and Matthew Soderberg.
Readers were Michaele Amacker and Mark DeRouen, Jr.
Family of the bride included April DeRouen, Erica DeRouen and Annabelle DeRouen.
Family of the groom included Andrea Soderberg, Adam and Doctor Amanda Stanley and Jenna Clark.
The entrance path where the guest arrived was lined with copper torches and elegant navy blue flags that entered into a beautiful garden under stately oak trees.
The guest sign in table was draped with an ivory rosette linen and held a stunning white and crystal candelabra with a bay leaf garland with garden flowers draped throughout. The oak trees lining the aisle held metal half baskets of garden greenery and dendrobium orchids. The back of the aisle was flanked with a pair of French urns filled with garden flowers and the aisle was lined with fresh ivory rose petals and a beautiful linen aisle runner with gold stenciling.
The bride and her father entered the back of the aisle in a vintage Rolls Royce. The bride and groom exchanged vows on the front porch while surrounded by ivory sheer fabric draped from the columns and adorned with garden flowers in shades of white, ivory and blush.
The music for the ceremony included a quartet, string bass and trumpet.
After the ceremony, the guest walked through a twinkle lit corridor draped with ivory sheer fabric where they entered a photo gallery of family pictures as the quartet continued to play while hors d’ oeuvres and cocktails were served under a stunning white tent lined with soft sheer fabric with gold and crystal chandeliers hanging throughout the tent.
The guest tables were draped with beautiful ivory taffeta ribbon linens and stunning garden arrangements with peonies, hydrangea, garden roses and orchids were placed on intricately detailed antique gold candlesticks along with white and crystal candleholders with coordinating garden flowers at the base of the candelabra and candles.
The bride’s cake was a stunner. The seven tiered cake consisted of alternating layers of rolled butter cream iced cake and hand rolled sugar pastillage flowers. Butter cake was filled with French cream pastry cream and white almond traditional wedding cake that was filled with white almond truffle. Two thousand individual pieces of sugar petals created circles of white and deep Champagne roses, antique Champagne peonies, white crystal centered tulips and 24k gold tipped micro roses. Detail work consisted of sugar pearlized lace, pearls and glistening gems.
The theme for the groom’s cake was a three tiered Fleur de lis cake in quilted deep chocolate rolled butter cream. Dark fudge cake filled with ganache chocolate and white cake chocolate filled with chocolate Bavarian. The cake was adorned with micro fiber fleur de lis, 24k gold brushed chocolate wrought iron topped with a 6” dimensional hard carved chocolate fleur de lis.
Guests danced the enchanted night away to music by The Rachel Fleetwood Band from New Orleans while enjoying great food from Café Josephine in Sunset.
The couple will spend their honeymoon in Australia and New Zealand.
