Black squad completes comeback, takes LSU Eunice series

The Black squad completed its comeback, winning the LSU Eunice baseball Fall World Series four games to three over the Gold squad Monday night.
The Black unit, which lost the first two games of the best-of-seven intrasquad series, took a 5-4 win in the finale.
After dropping the opening two games of the series, the Black team rolled off three consecutive wins in games three, four and five before the clinching win Monday.
Sophomore starting pitcher Chad Reeves earned the win, striking out nine batters over five innings compared to just four hits and one run allowed.
At the plate, freshman Chris Trosclair had a double and two Runs Batted In, with freshman Madison Nickens and sophomore Dominique Landry each adding an RBI, while Nickens tallied a triple.
Gold team starter Nick Hartman took the loss after the freshman tossed three innings and allowed four runs on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
Freshman reliever Nick Lawrence came in and added three innings of his own, with three strikeouts, three walks and two hits allowed for the Gold squad.
 Freshman Gabe Roberts led the Gold team at the plate with two hits, including a double, while fellow freshmen Ben Chauvin (triple) and Ralphie McDonald (2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases) added hits as well.
