3 arrested for armed robbery, police see links to home invasions

Eunice police think three men arrested for armed robbery Sunday are leading to arrests in recent home invasions.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said,
“I’m not saying all three of these were involved in home invasions .. We are getting more information concerning the home invasions. We think at of these was involved in at least one of the home invasions.”
The three men arrested for armed robbery are:
Barjona Simon Bell, 18, 110 Boudreaux St., Eunice; armed robbery.
Jairus John Bell, 19, 110 Boudreaux St., Eunice; armed robbery.
Zechariah Hosea, 19, 411 Corn St., Eunice; armed robbery.
Lt. Ryan Young said they were charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred around midnight Saturday.
The victim and a witness were at Brownie’s convenience store parking lot when the victim cross the street to relieve himself on the side of a building, Young said.
“While he was there he was approached by the three and they assaulted him,” Young said. “He claims one of them held a knife to his throat while the others went through his pockets.”
The victim was also roughed up while he was on the ground, he said.
The juvenile witness recognized two of the men involved, he said. A third man was wearing a bandanna covering most of his face, he said.
On Sunday morning they came into to report a stolen phone, but during the interview it was learned the phone had been lost in an armed robbery, he said.
The victim also lost about $10 in the incident, Young said.
Fontenot said, “The investigation continues and it looks like we are going to soon be making some more arrests.”
The latest home invasion reported occurred March 18 in the 400 block of Cotton Street.
Police said four black males entered the residence and took cash and cell phones from four victims.
The four men were reported armed with pistols, shotguns and assault rifles.
The suspects were wearing dark clothing and bandannas over their faces, police said.
