Church Point man accused in fatal shooting

A 20-year-old Church Point man, Raymond L. Celestine IV of East Ebby Street, is accused of shooting Anthony Citizen, 32, also of Church Point, multiple times shortly after midnight Sunday, according to a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon.
The shooting occurred off of Peach Bloom Highway near Church Point.
The victim was found to have multiple gunshot wounds, Melancon stated.
The Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office was called to assist in the investigation. The body of Mr. Citizen has been transported to the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office for autopsy.
Celestine was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail after turning himself in to authorities and has been charged with second-degree murder, Melancon stated.
Bail has been set at $350,000 by Judge Christian Earles, Melancon stated.
