Eunice police arrest 2 men as they hauled a generator down a street

Staff report

Maybe it didn’t occur to the two guys alternately carrying and dragging a generator down a street that their behavior might catch the attention of onlookers.
When stopped by Eunice police at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, the officer found the two guys didn’t have a believable story, Lt. Richard Daigle said.
Besides the generator, the men had a book sack with bolt cutters, a flashlight -- burglary tools -- as they made their way in the 400 block of Juanita Street, Daigle said.
As police drove up to the residence where a shed had been entered, the generator’s owner was on the phone to police reporting the theft, he said.
Arrested were:
Kodi Manuel, 20, 700 block of North 2nd Street, Eunice. Simple burglary, criminal trespass and theft; and
Kegan Guillory, 17, 200 block of Julia Street, Eunice. Simple burglary and criminal trespass.
