Eunice police officer injured in search

A police officer was injured Friday afternoon during a search of the Eunice Head Start.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said, “We received a call from the Head Start that they heard what sounded like someone running in the attic. The building was evacuated and completely searched.”
Fontenot said that nothing was found during the search, but an officer fell through the ceiling and onto the floor during the investigation.
“He was injured, but not seriously, and he is being treated at Acadian Medial Center,” Fontenot added.
