Ville Platte man surrenders to police on nearly year-old sexual battery charge
A Ville Platte man surrendered to Eunice police on Monday to a nearly year-old charges of sexual battery, domestic abuse and false imprisonment.
Timothy James Vidrine, 26, 2000 block of West Main Street, Ville Platte, is in city jail on Tuesday with a $22,500 bail, Eunice Deputy Police Chief Richard Daigle said.
Daigle said Vidrine is charged with grabbing his girlfriend by the throat and accusing her of cheating on him, Daigle said. Vidrine then took the victim’s shorts off, touched her inappropriately and refused to let her leave on Aug. 17, 2015, he said.
Daigle said bruises were observed on the woman.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said it is not known where Vidrine has been since August 2015.
