Good news noted about St. Landry Parish development

We are delighted to inform you of an exciting announcement that occurred in St. Landry Parish this afternoon (Sept. 30). Hazelwood Energy Hub revealed their plans to develop a $400 million crude oil storage and blending complex near Port Barre and a loading facility at the Port of Krotz Springs. Below you will find Louisiana Economic Development’s official press release for the announcement.
When operational, this facility will employ 123 new direct jobs in the area, with an average salary of $63,500, plus benefits. According to LED analysis, the expansion also will result in an estimated 145 new indirect jobs, along with 200 construction jobs.
Working with Bill Rodier, Executive Director of St. Landry Economic Development, and LED, our business development team led by Jim Bourgeois played a facilitative role in securing this investment, including activities related to site development, incentive calculation and eligibility, and outlining future opportunities. One Acadiana has been under NDA since May 2015 and anticipates continued coordination with Hazelwood Energy Hub and economic development partners on this project.
The success of Hazelwood Energy Hub will further contribute to the strength of our regional economy. We look forward to a long-term partnership with Hazelwood Energy Hub and the opportunities this project brings to Acadiana. We congratulate Hazelwood Energy Hub and St. Landry Parish on this investment. Projects like this fuel our entire region’s economic momentum.
