Dr. Stearns and his daughter Caroline at Ironstar 1/2 ironman triathlon in Conroe, TX (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run.) Caroline was 6 years old at the time. Stearns said, "She met me at the end of the race to help me finish."

June LeDoux, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nolton LeDoux, delivered the valedictory address at Eunice High’s graduation. Co-salutatorians of the 135-member class were Beth Carter and Cassaundra King.
A year ago, during a City Council meeting, Alderman-at Large Jack Burson suggested that a “citizen council”, comprised of non-elected members, be formed in the city of Eunice.

Wednesday night, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at the Dollar General located at 4503 Highway 167, Washington, LA. The suspects entered the store at approximately 8:54 armed with a pistol.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
