“Aurora Borealis-The Northern Lights”
The Jean Lafitte Center in Eunice will host a one-man art show titled “Aurora Borealis-The Northern Lights,” by Lyn Fontenot, PhD. from Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Saturday, Nov. 15.
The show is free and opened to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Fontenot, orginally of Eunice, has been drawing and painting since she was 2 years old. She won her first blue ribbon for her art work when she was 8 years old, and has won numerous ribbons and awards since.
Some of her numerous subject matter for paintings include private homes, landscapes, seascapes, street scenes, animals, nature and flowers.
Besides drawing, her mediums include watercolor, oils and acrylics.
She holds a bachelor degree in Interior Design, a masters degree in Fine Arts, and a doctorate degree in Art History. Of her 48 professional years of design, three were spent in Paris.
Fontenot has written numerous books, her two most recent books, “Perspective Drawing and Other Art Techniques,” and “Drawing The Human Body,” are used in art classes she teaches at the University of Louisiana, Continuing Education Department, as well as in private lessons.
