Principal Mitch Fontenot says, “Coach Trent has spent 40 plus years mentoring and shaping the lives of students at Eunice High School.
“Always looking for a challenge, Coach Trent would often focus on those hard to reach students struggling with life, school, or many other issues.
“He has made the difference in so many students’ lives over the years in which many of these students would have gone down the wrong path in life otherwise.
“Out of my many years of nominating Teacher of the Year, Coach Trent is the most deserving through a lifetime of giving of himself to his students and to Eunice High School.
“I am proud to announce Coach Robert Trent as Eunice High School’s Teacher of the Year.”
Coach Trent is pleased to learn of this honor. “I’m honored to receive this recognition, and to represent Eunice High. I like to think I’m representing this community and my home community and friends also.”
Coach Trent will now advance to parish competition later this year.
