Veterans Day program at Eunice Elementary

Eunice Elementary celebrated and recognized Veterans Day Wednesday with guests Eunice Judge Terry Hoychick, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot, and Juvenile officer Stephanie Myers. Hoychick gave a motivational talk to students about his duties as a judge and the consequences for making the wrong choices at school, home, and in public. He talked to third- and fourth-grade students about honesty, and how their choices made will affect their future endeavors. Chief Fontenot told students about the job of a police officer and how they should respect officers and the law. He also stated that they should never be afraid of police officers because they are there to help. Officer Myers explained her duties as a juvenile officer and how she works with the police, judge, children and their parents to help them when in need. At the conclusion of the program, students had a question and answer session. From, left, are, Eunice Police Chief Fontenot, Judge Terry Hoychick, and Officer Stephanie Myers. (Photo Submitted)
