Acadia Parish suspects flee authorities on foot

Acadia Parish authorities were kept busy over night after responding to two suspicious related incidents that ended in two separate foot pursuits.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon shortly after 4:30 p.m. his office received a report of a suspicious vehicle located near Coulee Road and Valse Drive, Eunice, a news release stated.
Deputies were advised that a male subject driving a motor vehicle in the area seemed to be disoriented.
Upon arrival the vehicle in question was observed and upon attempting to make a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver then fled the scene.
Deputies then pursued the vehicle for about five miles ending on a dead end road and coming to a stop in a cow pasture on Gatton Lane near Tepetate Road.
Deputies then search the area for about four hours.
The driver was identified as Timothy Kordish from Ville Platte, the news release stated.
His vehicle was towed from the scene and charges are pending.
In the other incident about 11 p.m. the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a resident that reported a suspicious vehicle on a family farm located in the 2000 block of L. Boudreaux Road near Rayne.
According to Melancon, upon arrival on scene deputies made contact with the driver of a 2012 Ford pickup and upon asking for identification he fled on foot, the report stated.
The passenger in the motor vehicle was identified as Guy Higginbothan of the 1300 block of Deanne Highway, Church Point, and the owner of the truck, the report stated. He was arrested without incident and taken into custody for outstanding warrant, the report stated.
The driver of the pickup was later identified as Douglas Citizen II of Church Point, the report stated..
Melancon stated that deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff, Rayne Police Department and Louisiana State Police searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for Citizen.
